متن کاملAdaptive VoIP Transmission over Heterogeneous Wired/Wireless Networks
In this paper, we present an adaptive architecture for the transport of VoIP traffic over heterogeneous wired/wireless Internet environments. This architecture uses a VoIP gateway associated with an 802.11e QoS enhanced access point (QAP) to transcode voice flows before their transmissions over the wireless channel. The instantaneous bit rate is determined by a control mechanism based on the es...
متن کاملA low power, single chip realization of a low-speed, low-delay CELP coder/decoder for indoor wireless systems
A6struct-32 kb/s Adaptive Differential Pulse Coded Modulation (ADPCM) is a widely accepted high quality speech coding algorithm. Single chip devices exist for 32 kb/s ADPCM. "his algorithm requires a relatively large bandwidth and does not perform exceptionally well in noisy wireless environments, The 16 kb/s lowdelay code escited linear prediction (LD-CELP) coding algoritbm does perform well i...
متن کاملAVR336: ADPCM Decoder
Adaptive Differential Pulse Code Modulation, or ADPCM, is a digital compression technique used mainly for speech compression in telecommunications. ADPCM is a waveform codec that can also be used to code other signals than speech, such as music or sound effects. ADPCM is simpler than advanced low bit-rate voice coding techniques and doesn’t require as heavy calculations, which means encoding an...
متن کاملGSM EFR based multi-rate codec family
This paper describes a multi-rate codec family developed as a potential candidate for the GSM Adaptive Multi Rate (AMR) codec standard. The codec family consists of the GSM Enhanced Full Rate (EFR) codec [I] and lower bit-rate extensions thereof: The codec family consists of several codecs, i.e., modes that have different bit-rate partitionings between source coding and error protection. All th...
